Anirudh spreads out ‘Rap’ mania with Ghibran for “Sixer” Movie
Anirudh becomes synonymous symbolic for any musical genres. It isn’t simply for the chart buster composing he does, but with his magical voice, which soaks you in his melodious drench and at the same time, leaves your foot on relentless party mode with his western strokes. Here it all comes with Ghibran’s musical score for “Sixer”, where Anirudh is crooning a peppy rap number.
Music director Ghibran says, “Well, it’s a new and fresh experience to me indeed. First, it was Sivakarthikeyan brother crooning a ‘Love Gaana’ that had first of its kind treatment in lyrics by Logan. Now, having the power house champion Anirudh to croon a rap number has boosted the album with yet more electrification. Despite being one of the most reigning music directors, his down to earth nature and his volunteer gesture of going for takes to render a perfect stroke surprised me. I am sure; this is going to be an exciting one not alone for us in the team, but for all the listeners as well. I am not saying this out for my work, but with a strong confidence and what I have now seen as golden touch of Anirudh.”
Vaibhav-Pallak Lalwani starrer “Sixer” is having the best of its leaps one after the other. The first look that created an instant curiosity followed by the rib-tickling teaser that took us for a dive into the fun-filled story premise followed by Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Love Gaana’ seasoning it as an additional flavour. Now with Anirudh’s vocalism being included, it looks like a sure-footed salient trait for the movie…
Dinesh Kannan and Sridhar are producing “Sixer” for Wallmate Entertainment in collaboration with Trident Arts R Ravindran. Written and directed by Chachi, P.G. Muthaiah is handling cinematography with Jomin as editor and Pasar NK Rahul as art director. Sam and Ramkumar are choreographing action sequences for “Sixer’ with GKB, Logan and Anu penning lyrics and NJ Sathya and Keerthi Vasan as costume designers.
There’s yet highlighting news about “Sixer”, which is about the post-production works wrapped up and the official announcement on theatrical release will be made sooner.

Thanne Vandi Movie Details
The film owning the concept of simple yet unique themes packaged with commercial elements always manage to make a clean sweep across major sector of audiences. Time and again, it has been proved by many films. It is evident that these aspects go very well illustrated with Thanne Vandi featuring National award winning actor Thambi Ramaiah’s son Umapathy Ramaiah. The film has Vil Ambu fame Samskruthy in female lead role and is directed by debut filmmaker Manika Vidya, who had as assistant to filmmakers Rasu Madhuravan, Manoj Kumar and Tarun Gopi.
With the season of dryness and water scarcity reaching the peak, it instantly lets us assume its relevance to the title “Thanne Vandi”. Nonetheless, director Manika Vidya says, “The film has nothing to do with this issue for our protagonist is basically a water supplier in Madurai, who happens to be a drunkard as well. So it was more like having a double significance inherent to the story. But the story isn’t all about the water crisis nor does it showcase the protagonist addicted to alcohol all the time. It revolves around the humorous clash between the hero and a newly appointed District Revenue Officer.”
Having hinted about the film’s premise, Manika Vidya adds that there were several considerations for the role of District Revenue Officer’s role. “Yes, it is a role that holds strong importance, especially for powerful dialogues. It was even liked by many leading artistes and finally we zeroed in Ashwathi as we felt her more befittingly perfect for the role. Indeed, she has delivered a laudable performance.”
Thambi Ramaiah will be playing the reel dad of Umapathy in this film, which has an interesting and impressive league of star-cast including Devadarshini, Bala Saravanan, Vidyullekha, Cheran Raj, Manoj Kumar, Jarge, Bava Lakshmanan, ‘Kadhal’ Sugumar, Mullai & Kothandam of Vijay TV fame, ‘Aadukalam’ Naren, Krishnamoorthy, Madurai Muthu of Sun TV, “pichaikaran” Moorthy, and few more familiar actors. Arun Vijay’s MAFIA Movie Launched
Arun Vijay and Karthick Naren collaborate with Lyca Productions for “MAFIA”
It’s indeed an exciting moment for the film buffs across K-Town and even the ones beyond this territory. This is all about the unheralded collaboration of power houses, who have been proving their adeptness along with proficiency.
Yeah! The stunning first look of Arun Vijay’s “Mafia” helmed by filmmaker Karthick Naren and bankrolled by Lyca Productions with Subaskaran presenting it has evoked a flawless streak of exhilaration’s. There’s a tremendous commonality between Arun Vijay and Karthick Naren, which is all about preciseness in persistence, persuasion and perfection. Especially, with a topmost production house like Lyca Productions getting into picture, it’s more off a spectacular scenario.
More than all, there’s something yet more fascinating about “Mafia” on total days of shoot as Karthick Naren says, “We are kick-starting the shoot from July 6 and will be wrapping it up in 37-days schedule time.” The “Dhuruvangal 16” fame director continues to add, “Soon after completing the script, I could envisage and feel that Arun Vijay would befittingly suit the role, especially after watching “Thadam”… However, I wasn’t sure if he would be showing consent towards my script. Of course, his store is already loaded with more projects that are at different stages of production. To my surprise, he instantly gave a nod without even giving in any suggestions or changes. It is same with Lyca Productions, who despite working on multiple projects at grander scale and bigwigs didn’t have any promptings from their end. On my part, I feel the urge of responsibility to deliver a promising film within this affirmed span of time.”
Having said that Arun Vijay was the instant artiste to come up on his mind, the title suggests if he would be playing a gangster. The young and happening filmmaker clarifies, “No, he isn’t playing a gangster and this isn’t going to be a film that delves into the North Chennai terrain. Mafia will have a different premise and that’s all I can reveal for now.”
Getting on to speak about others in the star-cast, he says, “Prasanna will be seen in a much different role that is substantial and completely in contrast to what he has done so far. It’s same with Priya Bhavani Shankar, who will be appearing in a different role and makeover too.”
While Jakes Bejoy is composing music and Gokul Benoy is handling cinematography, the official word on others in the cast and crew will be announced shortly.

Suriya’s ‘Bandobast’ Teaser raises expectations
‘Bandobast’ is a novel and new-age action thriller that is set in an exciting set-up. Tensions between India and Pakistan in the context of terrorism, the problems faced by farmers and those posed by river-water sharing, Indian Army secret operations – these elements are the crux of the film.
Suriya, who stole the hearts of the Telugu audience with highly content-driven movies like ‘Ghajini’ and ‘Singham’, is the hero of ‘Bandobast’. Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has a crucial role in the movie. This is the first outing of the real-life couple Arya and Sayyeshaa Saigal since their marriage. ‘Rangam’ fame KV Anand has wielded the megaphone. Subhaskaran of Lyca Productions, who has brought to the Telugu audience ‘Nawab’ and the visual wonder ‘2.0’, is the producer.
The film’s teaser was unveiled by macho star Rana Daggubati via his Twitter account on Saturday. And it has been getting a tremendous response from the audience. If ‘Rangam’ was a heady mix of politics, journalism and naxalism, ‘Bandobast’ goes leagues ahead to thrill the audience. Harris Jayaraj’s album for the movie will be unveiled soon. The audio will be out on Sony Music. The film will be released on August 30.
Suriya, who moulds himself effectively in playing distinct characters, will be seen in several avatars in the movie. He has sported the get-up of a commando, played a Muslim man named Kathir, and Subhash in yet another disguise.
Boman Irani, Samuthirakani, Poorna, Nagineedu and others will also be seen in key roles.
